Data is collected showing drivers and barriers to building back flood and seismic-resistant housing to find pathways for more housing assistance.</p>\n<p>Data collection included household interviews, structural assessments of reconstructed houses, community data, focus group discussions, key-stakeholder interviews, and field observations. These data were collected during fieldwork conducted between February and May 2024. Data were collected in two highly flood-prone districts, Banke and Dang. The area is frequently impacted by floods and received no to limited humanitarian or governmental technical assistance for the reconstruction. The sample included 19 communities, 9 in Dang and 10 in Banke. Communities were identified using a combination of geographical boundaries and the smallest identifiable administrative order, the ward level.
